Judge Edward Rodgers

Judge Edward Rodgers

Edward Rodgers blazed a trail of Palm Beach County firsts, as first black county judge and first black chief judge of the circuit court. Raised in Pittsburgh during the Depression, Rodgers worked in the steel mills, like his parents, before joining the Navy in World War II. He moved to West Palm Beach in 1950. Rodgers retired from the bench in 1995 but has not yet retired from public service.
