M. A. Hall Williams
M.A. Hall Williams founded the Florida Photo News, a newspaper for the West Palm Beach area’s black community, in 1955. She described herself as a defender of the underdog, and wrote, edited and published the 12,000-circulation newspaper by herself. Williams, the daughter of a minister, also worked as a talent scout and advertising executive and taught at the old Roosevelt High School from 1937 to 1956. She died in 1990 at age 76.
