This week in history: Haverhill incorporated
The town of Haverhill — named for Haverhill, Mass., near Boston, which was the original home of some of its early settlers — was incorporated May 3, 1950. The Florida town is pronounced HAY-ver-HILL, while its New England namesake is pronounced HAYV-rill.
